Theory of Constraints
Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a management philosophy that was first presented in 1984 in the book, The Goal. TOC is based on the premise that complex systems are governed by inherent simplicity. Therefore TOC believes the performance of any complex system is governed by only one or very few factors, called constraints. Through focusing on and holistically managing the system constraint(s) TOC leverages the performance of a system.
The implementation of TOC can result in significant improvements in the overall company performance for companies in both the service and manufacturing industries. Typical results include securing and/or maintaining a strategic advantage in the marketplace, increased company revenue, reduced fire-fighting, customer service expectations being met, and the resolution of conflicts between people representing different parts of the organization, to name a few
Business Coaching
Based on the work by Pat Grove, Humberto Maturana, Rafael Echeverria, Julio Olalla, others. The discipline of Ontology, which has emerged from the integration of significant 20th century developments in the biology of cognition, existential philosophy, and the philosophy of language, provides a sound and substantive theoretical basis for professional coaching. The theory and methodology of Ontological Coaching works constructively with three essential domains of human existence - language, emotions and body – as a means for supporting coaching clients to develop important new perspectives that generate more effective behaviours.
